Due to rapidly changing technology, computer fields are becoming the center of public interest. It is not too much to say that in-depth studies and researches of computer-related fields are vital. Since the opening of Kimpo College, the Department of Electronic Calculation has educated many talented and professional individuals. In 1997, the Department of Multi-Media and the Department of Computer Applications were established in order to respond to the society's needs to bring up more efficient professionals. In 1998, out of these three departments, a division called 'Computer Division' was established to intensify the cultivation of professionals in more subdivided and refined fields. The subdivided courses for major studies include Electronic Commerce Development, Multimedia, Internet Information, and Software Engineering.

¡Ú Major : Electronic Commerce Development
E-Commerce Development major produces professionals who have general managerial knowledge as well as experience in system design, system implementation techniques and the knowledge necessary for electronic commercial system development processes. This includes outline studies of EC business process, EC system development, system development methods, ERP system, EC Database design and web server programming. After graduation students can enter companies involved in internet shopping mall system, web hosting, internet consulting, homepage development, computer offices, cyber education and SI related system operations.

¡Ú Major : Software Engineering
The Software Engineering of Kimpo College is designed to provide a broad theoretical and practical background in computer science and software development. It gives a strong foundation to the students who want to develop professional skills that prepare them for immediate employments in computer science and software engineering. The students will be provided with an educational foundation that prepares them for professional computer programmers. The subjects of the program include various kinds of programming languages, data structures and computer algorithms, operating systems, computer architecture, and system software, followed by courses in applied areas. The main purpose of the program is to understand fundamental computer science and software engineering of permanent value and apply them to practical and commercial outcomes. Students also improve their ability to apply in-depth knowledge and skill of one or more specializations into professional software developments. Moreover, they will be able to participate in creative, synthetic, integrative activities of computer science design.

¡Ú Major : Multimedia
In a highly information-oriented society, multi-media industries come to the forefront rapidly. Hence, in order to develop efficient professionals required by multi-media industries, we have the following courses of education. They are; programming language for multi-media systems, computer graphics, animation, voice and image processing, multi-media design, productions of multi-media titles, multi-media DB(database), and so on. The graduates can have access to various fields such as multi-media software developing, information providing and processing, computer graphics, homepage design, CD ROM title producing, media advertising and public information sections of industries etc.,

¡Ú Major : Internet Information
Our department's educational purpose is to cultivate specialists who can write and operate various programs. The basic courses of IIM(Internet Information Major) cover programming languages, computer systems, system development and computer graphics. The IIM core courses include implementation of web servers, internet security, web databases, wireless communication program and senior project. The graduates can work in such areas as internet application development, implementation of web service systems, information security, wire/wireless communication and network/system administration
